Every day we are fighting a battle but this small offensive enemy is usually invisible to us and unknown by most people. This is only a single reason to learn how to detox diet. This insidious rival can be so tiny that the naked eye cannot see it, but it is every bit as dangerous to our long-term health as larger and more visible threats. Toxicity and chemical pollution are the unseen threats to our health and can be removed by a detox and cleansing diet method.

What is the detox diet? The majority of people cruise blissfully through life, totally unaware of this war being waged on them, until one day when the body has reachedthe point of exhaustion and the system cannot cope with the amount of chemicals ingested, there is “meltdown”. {The detox and cleansing diet can help the body remove toxins that cause illness}.

At times, illness can be brought on byconsumption of these chemicals—it can be something that is very simple or more threatening such as a heart attack or cancer.

There is another important reason why many people learn about how to detox diet every day: with close to fifteen hundred new chemicals being introduced into the planet every year, it would be a complete foolish for us to think that our body could naturally cope. This is especially important since many of them unfortunately enter our food chain.

How to detox diet: The following botanicals have been used as part of cleansing remedies for many years, some of them for centuries, with great allegorical success:

  • Aloe Vera:  In order to banish intestinal worms and to clean out the large intestine, aloe is often used as a laxative and cleanser. Historically, aloe has also been used as a soothing balm to treat ailments of the skin. Inside the heart of the plant has been known to be most effective.

  • Root of Burdock:    In the West, burdock is a well-known cleansing agent that can be used in a detox diet for liver because it is helpful for removing heavy metals such as arsenic, lead or mercury in the blood. It is helpful in detox diet meals when:

    1. Environmental toxins such as air pollution or cigarette smoke are common, and/or

    2. Your blood has parasites in it, and/or

    3. Acne is present: it supports the liver in the process of blood cleansing and can be useful in clearing up redness of the skin or blemishes

Some detox cleansing diets offered on the market are too good to be true. Read all of the ingredients on the label and select detox diet meals that are healthy for your body while gently cleaning it.

Don’t fall for the single organ cleanse or the quick juice fix – your body consists of more than a liver or a colon which require a full body detox and cleansing diet that operates on a cellular level and better yet with some or all of the botanicals listed above.

Is detox healthy? A quick shot of one or two weeks to cleanse the colon is unlikely to undo the damage created over your lifetime, so be wary of the short-term quick fix approach that you’ll see on the shelf in your local health food shop. Most importantly, make sure you can answer the question “what is the detox diet?”.

You will get great long-term health benefits from a liver diet detox or from a general detox and cleansing diet if you do it correctly—seek advice from a nutritionist or cleansing coach. Happy cleansing!
